What is Waitlist Hero?
Waitlist Hero monitors your favorite Mariana Tek-powered fitness studios and books spots for you the moment they open up. You connect your studio account, pick a class to watch, and we poll for availability — auto-booking the spot or notifying you to confirm, depending on your preference.
How does it work?
Create a "watch" on a class you want. We poll the studio every minute. As soon as a spot opens up — whether the class was full or the booking window just opened — we either reserve it automatically or send you a notification to confirm. You stay in your default class, no waitlist refresh-spam required.
Which studios are supported?
Any studio that uses the Mariana Tek booking platform. This includes most boutique fitness brands like Lagree, [solidcore], Y7, Barry's, and many independent yoga, cycling, and Pilates studios. If you can search for a class on your studio's website using a Mariana Tek-powered booking widget, we can monitor it.
How do I sign up?
Tap "Sign Up" in the app or on our website, enter your email and a password, and you're in. New accounts include free credits so you can try the service before adding a payment method.
Connecting Studios
How do I connect my gym?
Go to the Studios tab and tap "Connect Studio." Search for your studio by name and city. We auto-detect their booking platform, then ask for your studio email and password. Your credentials are encrypted and used only to authenticate with the studio on your behalf.
My studio doesn't appear in search. What now?
Some smaller studios aren't indexed by Google Places. Tap "I know my gym's subdomain" on the connect screen to enter the studio's Mariana Tek subdomain manually (e.g., the part before .marianatek.com). If you're not sure, contact us and we'll help track it down.
Is my studio password safe?
Yes. We encrypt your studio password with AES-256-GCM before storing it, and use it only to obtain a fresh OAuth token from the studio when needed. The encrypted credential is never sent back to your device, never logged, and never shared with third parties.
How do I disconnect a studio?
Studios tab → tap the studio → Disconnect. This deletes the encrypted token and credentials. Any active watches on that studio will be cancelled.
Watches & Booking
What's the difference between Auto-book and Notify-first?
Auto-book reserves the spot automatically the instant it opens. Notify-first sends you a push and email when a spot is available, then waits for you to tap "Confirm" before booking. Auto-book is best when you definitely want the class; notify-first is better if you want to decide last-minute or if your schedule might change.
Can I set a default booking mode?
Yes. Account → Watch Preferences. Pick "Notify me first" or "Auto-book" as your default. You can still override it on each individual watch when you create it.
My class uses pick-a-spot. Can I reserve a specific spot?
Yes. When you create a watch on a pick-a-spot class, you'll see the studio's spot map. Tap to mark spots you'd prefer, then choose either "Preferred first, any as fallback" or "Only book preferred spots." Preferred-first books any open spot if none of your favorites are available; preferred-only waits patiently until one of your picks opens up.
I created a watch on a class with available spots. Why isn't it booking?
If the class shows "Booking not yet open," the studio hasn't opened the booking window — your watch will start polling automatically when it does. Otherwise, check the watch detail page for any audit events showing why the booking attempt failed (e.g., "spot taken" or "payment option missing").
How do I cancel a watch?
Watches tab → tap the watch → Cancel. The polling stops immediately. If the watch was charged when you created it, the credit is released back to your balance.
My class is full. Can I still create a watch?
Absolutely — that's the main use case. We'll keep polling and grab a spot the instant a cancellation opens one up. For waitlisted classes, we recommend the "delay polling" option to start watching closer to class time, since most studios stop auto-pulling from the waitlist a few hours before the class.
Billing & Credits
How does billing work?
You only pay when we successfully book a class for you. Each successful booking deducts one credit (or charges your card if you're out of credits). Watches that fail to book — because the class never opens up, you cancel, or the booking window closes — are never charged.
How do I add a payment method?
Account → Billing & Credits → Add Payment Method. Card info is handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.
Can I buy credits in advance?
Yes — credit packs are available on the Billing page. They're typically cheaper per booking than pay-as-you-go.
I got free credits when I signed up. How do those work?
New accounts receive free credits to try the service. They're consumed exactly like purchased credits. Once they're gone, you can buy more or add a payment method to continue.
I cancelled a watch — will I get my credit back?
If a credit was held when the watch was created, cancelling releases it back to your balance. If a watch was actually fulfilled (a booking was made), that credit is consumed.
Notifications
How do I enable push notifications?
On iOS or Android, allow notifications when the app first prompts you. On a desktop browser, allow notifications when prompted (this uses Web Push). You can revisit this anytime in your device's notification settings for Waitlist Hero.
I'm not getting notifications. What's wrong?
Common causes: notifications are disabled at the OS level for the app; you previously denied the prompt and need to re-enable in device settings; or your push token has expired (this auto-resolves the next time you open the app). On iOS, also make sure Focus modes aren't silencing the app.
Can I get email instead of push?
You receive both by default. To disable email-only or push-only, head to Account → Notification Preferences (coming soon — for now, contact us and we'll adjust).
Account & Privacy
How do I change my password?
Account → Change Password. Enter your current password and a new one (min 8 characters).
How do I delete my account?
Account → scroll to the bottom → Delete Account. Type "delete my account" to confirm. This is irreversible and permanently removes your profile, studio connections, watches, and billing history. Unused credits are forfeited.
What data do you store about me?
Your email, an encrypted copy of your studio credentials and OAuth tokens, your watch history, your billing history, and your push device tokens. We don't store your card number (Stripe handles that) and we don't track or share your data with third parties beyond what's required to operate the service.

Troubleshooting
My booking failed with "too early to book." What does that mean?
This usually means your watch is missing a valid payment option, not a real timing issue (the studio API returns this error misleadingly). After a few retries the watch will fail terminal with a clearer message — cancel it and recreate, making sure your default payment option is set in your studio account.
My watch shows "WATCHING" but the class has open spots.
If the class's booking window hasn't opened yet (booking_start_datetime is in the future), we wait until it opens. Check the class detail — if it shows "Not Open" or "Booking opens at...", that's the cause and the watch will pick it up automatically.
The app crashed or got stuck. How do I report it?
Use the contact form below with as much detail as possible: what you were trying to do, what happened instead, your device and OS version, and a screenshot if you have one. We respond within 24 hours.
